Job Purpose:
Own the end-to-end engine production planning cycle for engine repair/overhaul (strip-inspect-build-test), ensuring on-time delivery (TAT), regulatory compliance, and efficient use of materials, tooling, and manpower. You will translate approved work-scopes and OEM data into executable work-packs, manage daily WIP, and provide clear visibility to stakeholders across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test Cell.
Job Responsibilities:
1.Plan & Schedule
- Build and maintain engine-level production plans (daily/weekly) covering module routing, hold points, special processes, and test cell.
- Sequence work orders and tasks to meet TAT targets; manage critical path and recoveries.
2.Workscope & Technical Documentation:
- Prepare and customize engine workpacks/task cards in line with OEM data (e.g., CFM/GE/PW/RR), AD/SB/EO and Part-145.
- Ensure all work instructions, inspection points, and acceptance criteria are embedded and current.
3.Materials, Tooling & GSE Readiness:
- Identify and preload tools, GSE, fixtures, stands, torque/special tools, and consumables required per workscope/module.
- Coordinate material reservations, shortages, alternates, repair/exchange, and kit completeness with Supply Chain/Stores.
4.Manpower & Capacity:
- Estimate man-hours per module/task, level capacity vs. load, and align bays/cells/resources.
- Track man-hour burn vs. plan and re-plan when variances occur.
5.WIP Control & Reporting:
- Publish daily progress reports (WOs aging, bottlenecks, NCRs, parts on order, QA hold points, test cell queue).
- Drive daily Tier/stand-up meetings; escalate risks early with recovery plans.
6.Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure full compliance with Part-145, OEM, and airworthiness requirements.
- Support internal/external audits; ensure documentation completeness for work order closure and release to service.
Required Qualifications & Experience (Must-Haves):
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance License (Part-66 or equivalent).
- 5+ years in aviation MRO with at least 3 years in production planning (preferably engine shop or powerplant-focused).
- Proven experience preparing engine workpacks and scheduling module-level tasks (e.g., Fan/LPC/HPC/HPT/LPT/Accessory Gearbox).
- Hands-on use of MRO ERP (IFS, AMOS, RAMCO, TRAX, or Maintenix) for WO management, materials, and labor.
- Strong knowledge of OEM engine data and airworthiness: AD/SB/EO, CMM/EM/ESM; Part-145 procedures.
- Demonstrable man-hour estimation, capacity planning, and TAT management experience.
- Excellent cross-functional communication; able to run daily WIP/tier meetings and drive actions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with CFM56/V2500/LEAP/PW100/GE90/GEnx/Trent programs.
- Exposure to test cell scheduling/coordination and borescope-driven re-scope.
- Experience in NDT coordination, balancing, and special processes.
- Advanced Excel/Power BI dashboarding for shop visibility/metrics.
