The College of Medicine at Gulf Medical University, UAE, is seeking a dynamic and motivated faculty member with a PhD in Health Professions Education. Applicants with a medical background and expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and educational research will be considered. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching UG and PG programs, lead innovative educational initiatives, and engage in scholarly activity aligned with institutional priorities. Experience in interprofessional education, digital learning, or faculty development will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to curriculum design, review, and enhancement across health professions programs
- Support implementation of innovative teaching methodologies (CBME, PBL, simulation-based learning, digital learning)
- Drive faculty development initiatives in teaching, assessment, and educational best practices
- Contribute to academic quality assurance and accreditation processes (CAA and international standards)
- Conduct and publish research in health professions education
- Provide academic leadership, mentoring, and guidance to faculty and students
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration across colleges and programs
- Participate in institutional committees and strategic academic initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Health Professions Education, Medical Education, or a related field
- Additional clinical or healthcare background will be an advantage
- Associate Professor: Minimum 810 years of academic experience
- Professor: Minimum 1015 years of academic experience with proven leadership
- Strong track record in teaching, research publications, and curriculum development
- Experience with accreditation and quality assurance processes
