Position overview :

The Project Director is responsible for leading and overseeing construction projects from initiation to successful completion. This role ensures that all project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals and maintain alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Lead the full lifecycle of construction projects from concept through to handover.
• Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocations.
• Monitor progress using project management tools and ensure timely delivery of milestones.

Performance Monitoring & Risk Management

• Track project performance against key metrics and timelines.
• Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project goals.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless workflow and integration.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Resolve technical and operational issues to maintain stakeholder satisfaction.

Quality & Compliance

• Review and approve technical documentation, design submissions, and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, enforce quality control, and ensure safety compliance.

Reporting & Communication

• Lead regular project meetings and prepare progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions in a clear and timely manner.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide project team members to build technical and managerial capabilities.
• Foster a collaborative working environment and ensure effective knowledge transfer within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1520 years of experience in construction project management.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale infrastructure.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and construction management software.
• Language Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.

Certifications (Preferred)

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional)
• OSHA Safety Certification or equivalent is an asset
