Position Summary
The Project Director will lead end-to-end execution of large-scale Data Center construction projects, ensuring delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role involves complete project governancefrom pre-construction planning to commissioningalong with strong client interfacing, contractor management, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Governance
- Lead the full lifecycle of large Data Center construction projects, covering civil, MEP, and utility infrastructure.
- Define execution strategy, key milestones, and KPIs aligned with project objectives.
- Oversee master project scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and construction sequencing.
- Chair project steering meetings and proactively escalate or resolve critical issues.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface for clients, consultants, and government authorities throughout the project duration.
- Ensure clear communication, periodic reporting, adherence to SLAs, and contract compliance.
- Manage relationships with hyperscale clients and global partners with cultural and regulatory sensitivity.
Construction Oversight & Quality Control
- Review/approve contractor methodologies, execution plans, and construction drawings.
- Ensure strict compliance with local building codes, Uptime Institute, TIA-942 standards, and internal policies.
- Drive strong safety culture aligned with ISO/OSHA requirements.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, conduct site audits, and ensure high workmanship standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams including project managers, site engineers, planners, QS, and HSE officers.
- Establish accountability frameworks, performance monitoring systems, and structured escalation mechanisms.
Contract & Commercial Management
- Manage contracts with main contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, and vendors.
- Evaluate contractor performance, handle claims, change orders, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor project financials, cost adherence, and explore value-engineering opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. PD Riyadh
- 25+ years of experience in large-scale construction projects, including 8+ years specifically in Data Center or Mission Critical Infrastructure.
- PMP / PgMP certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, BIM tools, and ERP platforms.
- Willingness to relocate to Riyadh and travel across KSA as required.
