Project Engineer MEP (Mechanical / Plumbing) | UAE

Are you a technically strong MEP Project Engineer with experience delivering complex construction projects and coordinating engineering, procurement, and site execution

We are looking for a Project Engineer (Mechanical / Plumbing) who can manage engineering deliverables, ensure technical compliance, and support the successful delivery of large-scale construction and mission-critical projects.

About Your Team

This role sits within the Project Execution Department and reports directly to the Project Manager, working closely with Senior Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and commercial and planning teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Your Role

As a Project Engineer Mechanical / Plumbing, you will manage engineering deliverables for the assigned scope, ensuring statutory approvals, procurement, and technical documentation align with project specifications and programme requirements.

You will support project delivery by ensuring installations meet design intent, quality standards, and commissioning requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all contract specifications, consultant requirements, and statutory regulations are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and manage material submittals ensuring compliance with project specifications and consultant requirements.
  • Maintain a material approval register and ensure timely submission and approvals.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments in line with project HSE and QA/QC requirements.
  • Manage and track procurement schedules and long-lead items, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering drawings and documentation, ensuring approved drawings are issued to site teams.
  • Supervise engineering coordination with drafting teams and maintain a drawing submittal tracker and look-ahead schedule.
  • Support value engineering initiatives and prepare material take-offs with Senior Engineers and Construction Managers.
  • Review design, engineering, and installation details to ensure compliance with project specifications and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure installations meet quality standards and programme milestones.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities to ensure systems operate as per design and project requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates and engineering support.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues on site to maintain safety, quality, and programme targets.

Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, particularly mechanical and plumbing installations.
  • Experience managing engineering deliverables, drawings, submittals, and procurement tracking.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, and project programme coordination.
  • Strong coordination skills with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Autodesk Revit.

Desirable

  • Experience with BIM 360 or CDE platforms.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Ability to analyse project data and support reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering roles within construction, MEP, or fit-out projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Good understanding of local and international engineering codes and standards.
