The Project Engineer- Electrical is responsible for completion of projects within specified time & budget, supporting procurement department by raising proper purchase requests.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completion of projects within specified time & budget for respective Trade.
- Dealing with main contractor, client & consultant, responsible for timely project execution/completion and matching best quality standards as per their expectation.
- Good command on Electrical & ELV systems in the project, Design and Project Specifications. Also to be aware of Mechanical systems.
- Full awareness of approval procedures. Liaising with Government authority viz. DEWA, DCD, Etisalat, SIRA etc. regarding inspections, approvals etc.
- Responsible for cost control, timely billing & payment and smooth cash flow. Also ensuring effective claiming of variations & EOT where applicable.
- Supporting procurement department by raising proper purchase requests along with detailed bill of quantity, specifications, approvals etc..
- Ensure proper implementation of company's HSE and QA/QC policies at sites.
- Ensure effective coordination among other project engineers of other trades for smooth installations.
- Ensuring approvals of shop drawings, material submittals prior to installations.
- Raise timely variation claims and ensure their approvals prior to execution works.
- Follow-up with different suppliers for timely material / equipment deliveries and ensure to receive correct material / equipment as per purchase order & specifications.
- To test & commission the respective system perfectly and ensure timely hand over to the client along with complete documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8 12 years experience in electrical works within construction/MEP contracting.
- Strong knowledge of LV/ELV systems, cable routing, MDB/SMDB/DB installations, and authority standards (DEWA, DCD, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
