Job Purpose:
- Protect the client's interests by ensuring value for money, timely delivery, and high-quality work.
- Foster collaboration among all stakeholders while maintaining objectivity and independence.
- Ensure that the final deliverables meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of all the engineering disciplines and principles needed to design, procure, construct and operate a natural gas pipeline system or can identify where consultation with subject matter experts is warranted.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict oversight of contractor activities to ensure compliance with the project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Monitor the overall progress of the project against the planned timeline and deliverables.
- Coordinate between internal departments/teams and external stakeholders.
- Review and manage contractor deliverables, ensuring compliance with the contract terms and conditions.
- Evaluate and approve variations, change orders, and claims submitted by contractors.
- Review and approve technical designs, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet client standards.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and consultants, clarifying client requirements
- Provide daily or weekly progress reports to the office-based team and stakeholders.
- Highlight delays, issues, and deviations from the project plan.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, analyze and solve problems with a positive attitude. This involves working proactively with little direction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Professional Certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is a plus.
- 12 years minimum experience in oil & gas project/industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) & Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certifications are preferred. Additional training in pipeline construction, safety regulations and risk management is advantageous.
