Role Overview:

The Project Manager Infrastructure is responsible for planning, executing, and controlling the delivery of complex infrastructure projects. The role requires deep familiarity with physical DC build outs, power and cooling readiness, structured cabling, network design, OEM/vendor coordination, and governance processes.

The PM will work closely with the Engineering, Architecture, Security and Operations teams, as well as vendor project managers, to ensure milestones, dependencies, risks, and budgets are fully controlled throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the end-to-end project plan, including timelines, dependencies, resourcing, and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the primary delivery owner for the infrastructure programs, representing Open Innovation in all steering, governance, and escalation forums.
  • Coordinate with multiple external vendors (e.g., data center providers, OEMs, integrators, network/ISP partners) to ensure aligned delivery schedules.
  • Track and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID), ensuring mitigation plans are executed.
  • Monitor and report on project financials, including budget burn, vendor payment milestones, procurement status, and change requests.
  • Drive structured weekly status meetings, executive dashboards, and program reporting to leadership and customer counterparts.
  • Ensure DC readiness (power, cooling, racks, structured cabling, security, connectivity) prior to hardware deployment.
  • Support design/engineering activities by aligning LLD/HLD approval cycles with procurement, logistics, and deployment planning.
  • Oversee logistics, delivery, rack-and-stack, and integration activities in coordination with physical DC teams.
  • Work closely with network, security, and platform engineers to align technical workstreams and cutover plans.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO processes, documentation requirements, and change controls.
  • Coordinate project close-out, handover to operations, training, documentation, and acceptance sign-off.

Qualification, Experience, Competence and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 812 years of experience in infrastructure or data center project delivery, with at least 5 years in a dedicated project management role.
  • Strong understanding of physical data center build-out phases including power, cooling, racks, structured cabling, compute, storage, and networking.
  • Proven experience managing multi-vendor delivery projects involving OEMs, system integrators, logistics, and customer PMOs.
  • Hands-on experience with project planning tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (L2/L3, routing, WAN, VLANs; InfiniBand/RoCE is an advantage).
  • Ability to manage full project financials including budget tracking, milestone payments, procurement timelines, and change requests.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working with senior executives and technical engineering teams.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification required.
  • ITIL certification and/or data center or cloud certifications (e.g., CDCP, CCNA, AWS, VMware) are an advantage.
  • Experience working with UAE-based vendors and suppliers is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced delivery environments, manage escalations, and drive structured reporting and governance.
