Role - Senior Project Manager- Islamic Banking
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the endtoend delivery of complex business and technology initiatives within a banking environment. The role requires strong delivery discipline, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams while ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience delivering projects in banking or financial services, with exposure to core banking platforms and strong collaboration across IT, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Compliance. Experience in Islamic Banking is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead the endtoend delivery of medium to largescale projects across business and IT domains
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budgets
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior business and IT stakeholders
- Facilitate effective communication across business units, vendors, and delivery teams
- Manage expectations, dependencies, risks, and escalations proactively
Governance, Risk & Controls
- Ensure adherence to organizational project management standards, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
- Prepare and present regular status updates, dashboards, and steering committee materials
Financial & Vendor Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
- Oversee thirdparty vendors, system integrators, and external consultants
- Ensure contractual deliverables and SLAs are met
Quality & Change Management
- Ensure appropriate testing, signoff, and readiness activities are completed
- Support business change, cutover, and golive activities
- Drive postimplementation reviews and benefits realization tracking
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in project management, preferably within banking or financial services
- Proven experience delivering technologyenabled change initiatives
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
- Experience working with crossfunctional teams including IT, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Compliance
- Proficiency with project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, Smartsheet)
Preferred / GoodtoHave
- Experience delivering projects within Islamic Banking (products, systems, or operations)
- Exposure to core banking platforms (e.g., Finacle, Flexcube, or similar)
- Experience in regulated environments and working with audit, risk, and compliance teams
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
