Job Title: Senior Project Planning & Cost Control Engineer
Job Purpose
To contribute to project success through accurate planning using Primavera P6, cost monitoring, KPI performance analysis, and the preparation of professional reports and recovery plans that ensure projects are delivered within the approved schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Create a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) aligned with project scope.
- Plan and allocate resources (labor, equipment, materials) based on project needs.
- Monitor project budgets and analyze financial variances regularly.
- Prepare and analyze S-Curve (Planned vs Actual) progress charts.
- Calculate and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Cost Performance Index (CPI)
- Schedule Performance Index (SPI)
- Critical Path identification and analysis
- Prepare short-term Look Ahead Schedules for daily and weekly tracking.
- Develop Recovery Plans to address delays and bring the project back on track.
- Prepare periodic management reports covering schedule performance, cost status, and progress updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Project Management
- Business Administration (with project experience)
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong ability to create WBS and develop detailed schedules.
- Experience in resource planning and allocation.
- Solid knowledge of budget monitoring and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills in preparing and interpreting S-Curves.
- Proficiency in KPI calculations (CPI, SPI, Critical Path).
- Experience preparing Look Ahead Schedules.
- Ability to develop effective Recovery Plans.
- Excellent command of Excel and financial analysis tools.
