Job Description

We are seeking to hire a Project Procurement Manager for one of our reputed clients - a contracting construction company based in the UAE. Local UAE experience is mandatory.

Accountability:

  • Planning, developing and purchasing materials, parts, supplies and equipment in timely and cost effective way; timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications
  • Ensure information security management system is implemented at project
  • Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost effective procuring process in line with the Objectives of the Company
  • Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve cost effective procurement process
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price and service

Responsibilities:


  • Forecast procurement needs & continually develop expertise to support growth for project
  • Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new products
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy, Project Requirement and negotiated terms and conditions
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier
  • Review quotations, negotiations & order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved procedure
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new supplies or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action
  • Track Purchasing activity and measurements and monitor & ensure the materiel & services are delivered to sites as agreed
  • Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety responsibilities
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships where necessary to
  • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products
  • Lead the procurement group in all phases
  • Perform additional duties as & when directed by Project Director/ Operations Manager/Manager - Procurement
  • Promote QHSE & ISMS policies within the company and ensure that the quality, environmental, health, safety & Information Security management system procedures are followed at all times, striving for continuous improvement until the effectiveness of the Integrated Management System is achieved

Requirements

Educational Qualification:


Masters or Graduate Civil Engineering or any other relevant engineering from a reputed University

Number of years of experience: Over 15 years

Specialized trainings required (if any): Material Management, Store Management, Accounting & Contracts Management Professional writings / Supply Chain Management

Area of experience required: Formulation of Strategic Procurement Policies, Staffing, Negotiation, Management functions
