The Project Quality Manager provides direction, assistance, and information to meet specified requirements on quality management, welding, NDE, PWHT and QC methods, Audits and technologies for specific opportunities and projects in the fabrication or field construction process.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Implementing the Project Quality Management System requirements as per company / contract requirements.
  • Understand the scope of work and develop Project Quality Plan/ Contract Quality Plan (PQP/CQP).
  • Maintains good working relations with internal and external customers.
  • Assures working conditions meet CBI and customer quality requirements.
  • Monitors and Audits shop and field work for adherence to appropriate standards and contract requirements.
  • Continuously seeks and applies new technologies and methods to improve CB&I's Safety, Productivity and Profitability.
  • Continue to learn and apply new professional skills.
  • Completes inspection check lists, welding, and QC engineering deliverables to meet the needs of Opportunities and Contracts.
  • Ensures that all regulations, codes, CB&I Policies/ Procedures, industry requirements and contract specific requirements are met for the work scope.
  • Establish quality fabrication and installation plans for each project.
  • Create and submit appropriate documents. Carry out document transmittal plan and ensure that contract requirements are met.
  • Actively communicate with others so that work is performed in an informed manner, suitable to the needs of the opportunity, contract, or shop for which work is performed.
  • Assist with the incorporation of safety and technical improvements to existing fabrication/construction procedures and equipment designs.
  • Comply fully with CB&I Business Conduct and Ethics Policies at all times.
  • Plan, coordinate, and take part in training and development activities to improve project performance and enhance individual career development.
  • Conduct Project Quality review meetings.
  • Conduct Contractor's site quality audits and assess the quality personal.
  • Conduct/Participates in Audit/Assessment and project-specific quality orientation and training Program.
  • Overseeing quality dossier preparation and submission.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical with a welding emphasis, or Materials Science degree preferred. (Associate in Applied Science-Welding Technology or related AS combined with years of applicable experience).
  • Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor
  • Manufacturing experience in heavy fabrication environment.
  • Minimum 15 years experience working on active construction sites in a Welding, QC, or NDE capacity.
  • Previous Welding Certification and Experience in an ASME and/or AWS governed application.
  • Previous Welding Engineering experience-Trained in NDE.
  • Basic understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy.
  • Fundamental understanding of non-destructive testing processes and methods.
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills along with demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team environment throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Candidate should be results oriented with good project management, organizational, prioritization, and team-based skills.
  • Competent computer skills with experience with MS Office Suite.
