Job Summary
The Projects Area Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects within a defined geographic area or portfolio. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements. The Area Manager acts as the key link between project teams, senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
Oversee planning, execution, and completion of multiple projects within the assigned area
Ensure projects meet contractual scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
Review project programs, cash flow, and resource plans
Monitor progress and implement corrective actions when required
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and supervise Project Managers, Site Managers, and technical teams
Provide guidance, performance evaluation, and coaching to project teams
Ensure effective coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams
Financial & Commercial Control
Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
Review and approve variations, claims, and change orders
Coordinate with commercial and finance departments on invoicing and cost control
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the main escalation point for clients within the assigned area
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
Participate in progress meetings and high-level negotiations
Health, Safety & Quality (HSEQ)
Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, local regulations, and company standards
Promote a strong safety culture across all sites
Ensure quality management systems are implemented and maintained
Risk & Compliance Management
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company procedures
Manage disputes and support claim resolution when necessary
Reporting & Communication
Prepare and present periodic progress reports to senior management
Provide accurate forecasts on schedule, cost, and resource utilization
Escalate critical issues with recommended solutions
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
1525 years of experience in project management within construction or engineering industries
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Strong knowledge of contracts (FIDIC or similar preferred)
PMP or equivalent certification is a must
