Role Purpose
Responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and successful delivery of a portfolio of construction projects. The role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while aligning with the organization's strategic objectives.
The Projects Director provides senior-level oversight across all phases of project delivery, leads and mentors project teams, manages key client and stakeholder relationships, and ensures effective risk, financial, and performance management across the portfolio
Key Accountabilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects across the organization.
- Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and resource planning at portfolio level.
- Oversee all phases of project delivery from mobilization to completion and handover.
- Monitor project progress, cost, quality, and schedule performance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
- Ensure construction standards, methodologies, and best practices are consistently applied across projects.
- Oversee project budgets, cash flow, cost control, and financial reporting across the project portfolio.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to avoid delays, claims, or cost overruns.
- Support commercial and contractual decision-making in collaboration with Contracts and Commercial teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and senior project staff.
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects operate in accordance with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Sustainability (HSSE) policies and procedures
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum
1520 years of experience in construction projects, managing large, complex, multi-project portfolios.
Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management experience.
Experience working in EPC / large contractor environments is mandatory.
