Role Overview:
We are seeking a
Protection Application Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for the design and commissioning of IED Protection parameters (Logic, Communication, Protection Settings) for
complex international technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the optimal type of IED to meet client requirements in line with protection plans.
- Implement LV/MV protection settings.
- Develop and commission Automatic Transfer Logic (ATS).
- Participate in Factory and Site testing of protection relays.
- Develop complex logic functions inside IEDs to satisfy client needs.
- Implement communication IED descriptions (CID files) for internal and external SCADA systems.
- Define IP and Ethernet networks between connected devices.
- Participate in tender processes to estimate and quote manhours.
- Support site commissioning, including interfacing with ED SWGR and EMCS.
- Report on technical and commercial arguments in the area of protection engineering
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in electrical distribution, energy automation, or commissioning.
- Proven experience with communication protocols: IEC61850, Modbus, OPC, Profibus, DNP3, IEC103, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of IEDs: SE portfolio (VAMP, SEPAM, MICOM, EASERGY, TESYS) and other vendors (ABB, Siemens, SEL).
- Experience with power metering relays, programming, and commissioning.
- Confirmed experience with GOOSE signals.
- Advanced knowledge of ANSI/IEEE Standard Device Function numbers.
- Experience preparing communication files for SCADA systems and performing signal/loop testing with EMCS and switchgear.
- Applies standards, tools, procedures, and best practices in protection engineering
