Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Python Automation Engineer with a strong background in Storage Testing (SAN, NAS, or NetApp) to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Python Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing automated test scripts for storage technologies, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of storage solutions. You will play a crucial role in testing and validating NetApp, SAN, and NAS environments to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automated Testing for Storage Solutions:
- Develop and maintain Python-based automated test scripts to validate and test SAN, NAS, and NetApp storage systems and solutions.
- Implement test plans and strategies for storage hardware, software, and systems to ensure compatibility, performance, and security.
- End-to-End Testing:
- Perform comprehensive end-to-end testing of storage systems, including hardware components, configuration, and management interfaces.
- Validate system performance, data integrity, scalability, and fault tolerance in SAN, NAS, and NetApp environments.
- Scripting and Test Automation:
- Design and implement automation frameworks using Python for both functional and performance testing of storage solutions.
- Automate test cases for manual test scenarios related to storage environments and operations.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to identify test requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on best practices for test automation.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Identify, reproduce, and diagnose issues in storage systems during testing, reporting bugs, and tracking them through to resolution.
- Provide technical support for debugging and resolving issues in NetApp and other storage solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Generate detailed test reports, logs, and documentation to provide insights into test results, failures, and improvements.
- Maintain test cases, scripts, and frameworks for future testing needs.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Python, automation frameworks, and storage technologies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software automation testing with a focus on storage technologies (SAN, NAS, NetApp).
- Strong experience with Python for automation and scripting, including familiarity with test frameworks such as Pytest, unittest, etc.
- Experience with storage technologies such as NetApp ONTAP, E-Series, StorageGRID, and other SAN/NAS solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in storage systems and protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB, FC).
- Strong understanding of storage architectures, data protection, replication, and management in SAN/NAS environments.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and commands.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and integration testing.
- Testing & Automation Tools:
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests in continuous integration processes.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and debugging skills to quickly identify and resolve issues in storage systems.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.
- Additional Skills (Optional but Preferred):
- Certification in NetApp or other storage technologies (e.g., ONTAP, E-Series).
- Experience with performance testing and benchmarking tools.
- Knowledge of cloud storage technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
