Summary:
A QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) inspector in the oil and gas industry is responsible for ensuring that all project activities, from materials to final construction, meet the required standards, specifications, and regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and safety of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and final products in accordance with drawings, route cards, and technical specifications.
- Supervise the NDT inspection process, including coordination with inspectors, verification of test results, and validation of compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ASNT, DS-1, API).
- Conduct calibration and verification of measuring instruments and test equipment, and maintain accurate calibration records.
- Review product license documentation to confirm conformance with licensor and regulatory requirements.
- Review and validate all documentationincluding work orders, inspection reports, and Certificates of Conformance (COC)prior to product delivery.
- Conduct receiving inspections for raw materials, repaired tools, outsourced processes, and purchased components.
- Communicate any non-conformities, defects, or customer-related quality concerns to the QA/QC department and relevant stakeholders for corrective actions.
- Initiate and submit NCRs for identified quality issues and collaborate with the QHSE Manager for resolution and improvement.
- Monitor the servicing and maintenance of tools in line with defined procedures and schedules.
- Track equipment calibration due dates and validate that all instruments are certified and within acceptable tolerance.
- Maintain proper storage, handling, and identification of all monitoring and measuring equipment to avoid damage and data inaccuracy.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality related issues and recommend improvements.
- Support customer audits, external inspections, and certification reviews by presenting required records and evidence of compliance.
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints or product failures, and contribute to corrective and preventive action planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least a Diploma in any Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification in a related technical field
- Certification in NDT Level II is mandatory (e.g., VT, MPI)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in QAQC Inspection roles within the oil & gas or manufacturing industries.
- Proficient in inspection tools and techniques, including visual inspection, dimensional measurement, and non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, DS-1, API 5CT, API 6A, API 7-1, API 7-2, NOV GP Premium, ASME, ASTM, and ISO
