Job Summary
The QC Engineer Mechanical is responsible for ensuring mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, codes, and client requirements. The role involves inspection, documentation, testing, and coordination with project teams to maintain quality assurance across fabrication, erection, installation, and commissioning activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections for mechanical works including piping, equipment, structural, and fabrication activities.
- Review drawings, ITPs, QAP, method statements, and technical specifications before execution.
- Conduct stage-wise and final inspections as per approved quality plans and project standards.
- Monitor welding, fit-up, NDT activities, and mechanical installations for compliance.
- Ensure material inspection, verification of MTCs, and incoming material quality checks.
- Coordinate with client inspectors, third-party agencies, and internal QA/QC teams.
- Raise NCRs, observations, and ensure timely closure with corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and documentation for audits and handover.
- Witness hydro tests, pressure tests, alignment checks, and mechanical run tests where applicable.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning quality activities.
Mandatory Requirements
- Diploma / B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 510 years of experience in QA/QC Mechanical in EPC, Oil & Gas, Power, or Industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO).
- Experience in inspection of piping, equipment, fabrication, and welding activities.
- Familiarity with ITP, QAP, WPS/PQR, NDT reports, and quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
