Role Overview
We're hiring a Quality & Regulatory Lead to strengthen the technical foundations behind Humantra's growing global product portfolio.
As Humantra expands across international markets, retail channels, and new product formats, maintaining world class quality and regulatory standards is critical. This role will report into the Head of Product & Innovation and works closely with Operations to ensure our products, ingredients, and packaging meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and manufacturing quality across all markets.
You will play a key role in protecting the integrity of the Humantra brand by ensuring our products are legally compliant, technically robust, and consistently manufactured to the highest quality standards. From reviewing product documentation and regulatory requirements to supporting manufacturing partners and quality systems, this role will help build the processes and controls that enable Humantra to scale responsibly and confidently across global markets.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product development, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing operations, and who is comfortable managing technical documentation, supplier collaboration, and quality control processes in a fast moving environment.
What you'll be doing in this role
1. Quality Control and Product Compliance
- Ensure Humantra products meet all required quality, safety, and regulatory standards across key international markets.
- Review product specifications, ingredient documentation, and formulation details to ensure technical and regulatory accuracy.
- Support the creation and maintenance of product technical files across all SKUs.
- Monitor product quality signals, investigate issues, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions where required.
2. Regulatory Compliance Across Global Markets
- Review and validate product labelling, claims, and documentation to ensure compliance with market specific regulations.
- Support product classification across food, supplements, and functional beverage categories.
- Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory frameworks across key global markets and advise internal teams accordingly.
- Work with external regulatory advisors and authorities when required to support market entry and ongoing compliance.
3. Ingredient and Raw Material Governance
- Review supplier documentation including specifications, certificates of analysis, safety documentation, and regulatory declarations.
- Ensure ingredient compliance across multiple markets and regulatory environments.
- Support supplier approval and monitoring processes in collaboration with Operations.
4. Packaging Compliance and Quality Standards
- Review packaging materials and labelling requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory and technical standards.
- Support packaging documentation including material specifications, artwork approvals, and regulatory checks.
- Ensure packaging components meet both product protection and regulatory requirements across markets.
5. Manufacturing and Operational Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations and co manufacturing partners to ensure technical and quality requirements are clearly defined and consistently applied.
- Support documentation processes across manufacturing partners including specifications, SOPs, and quality procedures.
- Participate in supplier and manufacturing partner onboarding from a technical and compliance perspective.
6. Documentation and Process Governance
- Build and maintain structured documentation processes across product, ingredient, and packaging files.
- Support change control processes for formulation, packaging, or regulatory updates.
- Help establish repeatable technical and compliance systems that support Humantra's continued growth.
Skills & Characteristics needed
- Minimum 3+ years experience working within quality, regulatory, or technical roles in food, supplements, functional beverages, or health and wellness products.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to food, supplements, and consumer wellness products across UK/EU + international markets.
- Experience reviewing product specifications, ingredient documentation, regulatory files and governmental body legislation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and working with co manufacturers or production partners.
- Comfortable managing technical documentation, regulatory reviews, and compliance processes.
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and ensure accuracy across product and regulatory documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple product or market requirements simultaneously.
- Clear communicator who can work cross functionally with Product Innovation, Brand Marketing, Operations, and external partners.
- Proactive and solutions focused, comfortable working in a fast moving growth environment.
