Job title: Quality Assurance Officer
Role Overview and Objective:
To support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and food safety standards across supply chain, storage, and distribution operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Corporate Strategy: Support the implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety strategies aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in ensuring alignment of QA practices with company objectives related to product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening food safety culture across supply chain and distribution operations.
- Support preparation of quality-related reports and insights for management review.
- Functional Planning: Assist in planning quality assurance activities across:
- Supply chain operations
- Storage and distribution centers
- Market and customer touchpoints
- Support planning of:
- Inspection schedules for inbound, storage, and outbound processes
- Market visit plans for quality checks and compliance monitoring
- Quality training programs for operational teams
- Assist in planning corrective and preventive actions based on audit findings and complaints
- Support planning of pest control, sanitation, and housekeeping programs
- Functional Management: Support governance of QA processes to ensure compliance with the following:
- Company policies and SOPs
- Food safety standards
- Regulatory requirements
- Monitor adherence to defined procedures, including:
- Cold chain management
- Product traceability and recall
- Complaint handling procedures
- Ensure proper documentation and version control of:
- QA procedures and work instructions
- Compliance and audit records
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities related to supply chain and distribution
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA frameworks and standards
- Operational Management: Conduct random inspections of:
- Incoming shipments
- Storage areas
- Outbound shipments
- Ensure proper implementation of:
- Food safety standards in storage and transportation
- Temperature control requirements across supply chain and markets
- Monitor sanitation, housekeeping, and hygiene practices at site locations and implement corrective actions
- Ensure pest control measures and food security practices are effectively implemented and recorded
- Support execution of product traceability and recall processes when required.
- Ensure products in the market are maintained at required temperature and storage conditions; escalate any deviations to Sales and Management
- Ensure consumer complaints are investigated and responded to within defined timelines
- Stakeholder Management:
- Supply chain and warehouse teams for quality compliance
- Sales teams regarding market-level quality observations
- Liaise with regulatory authorities when required for inspections and compliance matters
- Engage with customers and markets to gather feedback on product quality
- Coordinate with internal teams for resolution of quality issues and implementation of corrective actions
- Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE):
- Ensure compliance with organizational health, safety, and environmental policies
- Maintain accuracy and quality of QA records, reports, and documentation
- Follow safety procedures during inspections, site visits, and operational activities
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or related field
- Required Experience:
- Fresh graduate or 1–2 years of experience
- Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, ISO, etc.)
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to conduct inspections and identify deviations
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Basic proficiency in MS Office
