Overview
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction and landscape works meet the highest quality standards and comply with project specifications, industry codes, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees quality procedures, conducts inspections, coordinates testing, and works closely with project teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The QA/QC Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining project integrity and ensuring successful, compliant delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and quality control programs.
- Conduct site inspections for civil, structural, and landscape works to verify compliance with approved drawings and standards.
- Review project specifications, method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals.
- Prepare detailed QA/QC reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and CARs (Corrective Action Requests).
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories for material testing such as concrete, soil, and asphalt.
- Oversee and verify tests including compaction testing, concrete sampling, slump tests, and installation inspections.
- Inspect and approve materials delivered to the site to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Support the project team in resolving quality-related issues and verifying corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, quality records, and logs for audits and compliance.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 58 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer in construction, infrastructure, or landscape projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of QA/QC standards, ITPs, method statements, and construction specifications.
- Familiarity with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and other international standards.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, QA/QC software, and ability to read CAD drawings.
- Certifications: QA/QC, ISO 9001, or related quality certifications (preferred).
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in inspections, reporting, and analysis.
- Communication: Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify root causes and propose effective corrective actions.
