QA Tester

Core Responsibilities

1. Test Planning & Preparation

• Analyze project requirements and design comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Identify testing scope, objectives, resources, and deliverables.
• Prepare and manage test data and environments.

1. Test Execution

• Execute manual and automated test cases across different platforms (web, mobile, API, etc.).
• Validate functionality, usability, compatibility, security, and performance.
• Log defects and track them through resolution.

1. Defect Management

• Identify, document, and report software bugs clearly with reproducible steps.
• Work closely with developers to prioritize and resolve issues.
• Re-test fixed defects and perform regression testing.

1. Automation Testing (if applicable)

• Design and implement automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
• Maintain automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.

1. Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to clarify requirements.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives in Agile environments.
• Provide regular status updates and test progress reports.

1. Quality Assurance

• Ensure that deliverables meet defined acceptance criteria and organizational quality standards.
• Perform risk-based testing and suggest improvements to enhance quality.
• Advocate for QA best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

1. Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to process improvements in testing methodology, tools, and workflows.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging QA technologies.

Key Deliverables

• Test execution reports.
• Defect logs and status updates.
• Final sign-off on quality before release.
