QC Engineer - Coating

We are seeking an experienced Coating QC Engineer to support our EPC oil & gas projects, with strong hands-on expertise in painting, insulation, and fireproofing inspection. The role is crucial in ensuring quality compliance across all protective coating systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Role

As a QC Engineer, you will:

  • Inspect and monitor painting, insulation, and fireproofing activities in accordance with project specifications and approved ITPs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards (ISO, NACE, SSPC, ASTM) and client requirements
  • Perform and witness inspections including: Surface preparation and cleanliness, Environmental condition monitoring (temperature, humidity, dew point), Dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion, holiday and hardness testing, Inspection of insulation systems and fireproofing thickness, density, and application methods
  • Review and approve coating, insulation, and fireproofing procedures, material submittals, MSDS, and technical data sheets
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives
  • Identify, issue, and close NCRs, punch items, and quality observations
  • Prepare daily inspection reports, inspection records, and final quality dossiers
  • Ensure all activities comply with project HSE requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC oil & gas projects, covering: protective painting and coating systems, thermal and cold insulation, passive fire protection, fireproofing systems
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline
  • Certifications : NACE Level II / Level III or BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, FBE, CUI coatings, and PFP systems, Experience in inspection of pipelines, tanks, pressure vessels, steel structures, and process facilities, Familiar with onshore and offshore environments, Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills
