Job Description

Job Summary


The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality control activities to ensure construction works comply with contract specifications, approved drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable quality requirements. The role supports site execution through inspections, testing, documentation, non-conformance control, and coordination with project stakeholders to achieve consistent construction quality.


Key Responsibilities


Planning & Documentation



  • Review contract specifications and drawings to identify quality requirements and prepare a comprehensive list of required Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Prepare work activityspecific ITPs and associated inspection checklists.

  • Prepare material inspection and testing plans covering:

    • Type of material

    • Type of test

    • Frequency

    • Acceptance criteria

    • Required records




Site Monitoring & Inspection



  • Monitor and follow up the sequence of construction works in accordance with approved method statements and/or mock-up samples.

  • Conduct daily site inspections and walkthroughs to verify compliance with specifications and approved design/shop drawings.

  • Receive, log, and process Requests for Inspection (RFI/WIR) on the same day and coordinate inspection and testing activities in accordance with approved ITPs.

  • Perform material receiving inspections and tests to verify compliance with specifications and approved submittals.

  • Report material non-compliance using receiving inspection reports.

  • Monitor and verify the revision status of drawings used on site, including subcontractor drawings, to ensure no superseded documents are in use.

  • Monitor storage areas and take necessary actions to prevent damage or deterioration of materials.


Quality Control & Non-Conformance



  • Control non-conforming products and ensure proper identification, reporting, and follow-up.

  • Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

  • Monitor inspection status and ensure all corrective actions are completed prior to resubmission.


Records Management & Reporting



  • Maintain quality records as specified in approved ITPs and contract documents.

  • Ensure all original quality records are properly handed over to the Document & Data Controller for controlled filing and traceability.


Auditing & Data Analysis



  • Perform quality audits on site subcontractors to verify compliance with quality requirements.

  • Conduct statistical analysis of test results, primarily concrete cube test results, to monitor quality trends and compliance.


Required Qualifications & Competencies



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architecture

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the Building Construction Industry (Villas, high-rise buildings)

  • Strong understanding of inspection, testing, and quality control processes

  • Experience in preparation and implementation of ITPs and inspection checklists

  • Knowledge of NCR management and corrective action follow-up

  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel

  • Strong attention to detail, coordination, and reporting skills

  • Ability to work effectively in site environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
