Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform incoming material inspection to verify supplier quality
• Check incoming pipes, fittings, flanges, and gaskets against Material Test Certificates (MTC), Material Take-Off (MTO), and standards like ASME or ASTM. Conduct Positive Material Identification (PMI)
• Verify joint preparation, root gap, bevel angle, alignment, and cleanliness prior to welding, ensuring strict adherence to the approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
• Check pre-heating temperatures, interposes temperatures, and ensure qualified welders are using correct filler materials and parameters.
• Perform visual inspection on root passes and completed welds for defects (e.g., porosity, undercut, lack of fusion). Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Radiographic Testing (RT) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) based on the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Conduct leak testing, pressure testing, and performance testing on industrial pipes network.
• Identify defects and non-conformances during production/repair.
• Initiate NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and coordinate root cause analysis (RCA)
• Support Six Sigma/Lean initiatives to reduce defects and rework
• Analyze quality data (PPM, defect rate, rework rate) and prepare reports
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports,
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF (if applicable), and HVAC industry standards.
• Prepare SOPs, work instructions, and quality control plans
• Track warranty claims and returns related to quality issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years in Quality Engineering, preferably in HVAC/Refrigeration industry
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycle, and components
• Familiarity with measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, leak detectors, pressure testers)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant HVAC industry standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, quality management software (SAP)
• Good communication and documentation skills
