Quality Gauge Technician:
To lead the Gauge Room to ensure that all gauges, inspection tools, and measuring devices are properly controlled as per QMS and standards requirements.
Responsibilities:
To Verify gauges acceptable per job order before issue
- Visual inspection of gauges after each use to ensure quality products
- Clean / oil and calibrate all gauges after or before each issue
- Record gauge number, date/ time / issued to/machine number/date/time returned
- Inspect/calibrate and record values for:
o Thread height/taper/lead/pitch diameter /standoff and other gages as required
o Tag all gauges, etc. with date and calibration value each time-calibrated
- Inspect, using comparator and template all threading inserts prior to use, remove and record inserts found out of tolerance to template. Place inserts in secured area to prevent use.
- Keep all gauges and instruments in locked cabinets when not in use
- Keep gauge room clean and do not allow unauthorized personnel to enter gauge room
- All gauges are to be returned at the end of the shift, if not, notify supervisor for the area Gauge was issued to for immediate return
SKILLS:
- Must be able to do math functions,
- Must Pass Vision Test
- Must pass quality training and have certification
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
