Job Description
Position summary
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for overseeing and assuring the quality of all works executed by contractors and consultants on behalf of the Client. The role ensures that the project is delivered in full compliance with the contract, specifications, codes, regulatory requirements, and the Client's quality objectives, by establishing and monitoring an effective Quality Management framework across all project participants.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Client's Project Quality Management Plan and quality strategy for the project, ensuring alignment with corporate QMS and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Review and approve contractors and consultants Quality Plans, ITPs, method statements, and procedures, ensuring they meet contract and Client standards, and verify effective implementation during the project.
- Establish quality objectives and KPIs for the project, monitor performance of contractors and consultants against these metrics, and report trends and risks to the Client's Project Director/Management.
- Plan and lead independent Clientside quality audits and surveillance inspections on contractors, consultants, vendors, and key processes, and follow up on nonconformities until closure.
- Monitor compliance of all works and materials with contract specifications, regulatory requirements, and authority approvals, coordinating with design, supervision, and HSE teams as needed.
- Advise and support Client and PMC management on all quality matters, including risk identification, mitigation measures
- Ensure that robust quality documentation and records are maintained by contractors and consultants
- Coordinate quality interfaces between Client, consultants, contractors facilitating timely resolution of quality issues and claims.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the project, including leading quality meetings, workshops, and lessonslearned sessions on behalf of the Client.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 15+ years experience within construction and/or renovation projects
- Proven experience in reviewing and managing contractor and consultant quality systems and performance, including audits, NCR management, and handover documentation.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and construction project QMS implementation; experience with local authority and regulatory requirements in the project location.
Certifications
ISO certification or any other recognized quality certification.
