Job Summary:

Responsible for estimating and analyzing quantities and costs of materials required for construction projects, ensuring accurate resource planning and cost efficiency throughout all project stages.

Key Responsibilities: Quantity & Cost Estimation: Calculate material quantities for all project phases and estimate related costs based on engineering drawings and technical specifications. Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Preparation: Prepare detailed BOQs covering material quantities for each project item. Tender & Bid Preparation: Prepare tender documentation and ensure alignment of quantities and pricing with project requirements and standards. Supplier & Contractor Negotiation: Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to secure the best prices and ensure material quality. Cost Monitoring: Track project expenses during execution to ensure adherence to budget and identify variances between estimated and actual costs. Contract & Payment Review: Ensure contracts align with technical and financial requirements and review monthly invoices to verify the accuracy of executed quantities. Cost Reporting: Provide management with periodic reports on project costs, quantity changes, and budget updates. Auditing & Review: Ensure all work aligns with approved technical specifications and designs in terms of quantities and materials. Change Management: Evaluate the impact of design modifications on quantities and costs and prepare explanatory reports. Compliance: Ensure all quantity calculations follow local and international standards and maintain high accuracy in estimations.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of material prices and construction methods. Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and project schedules. Proficiency in preparing progress payments and final accounts. Familiarity with construction execution methods. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Behavioral Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills. Effective negotiation skills with suppliers and contractors. Strong understanding of cost estimation and resource evaluation principles. Ability to work under pressure and manage workload efficiently. Excellent communication skills with multidisciplinary teams. Good understanding of construction project management processes.

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5 - 7 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation. Proficiency in quantitysurveying software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, CCS, or CostX. Good knowledge of construction regulations, contract types, and legal frameworks related to construction projects.
