Quantity Surveyor

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Studying tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirements
• Performing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and models (architectural, structural, civil, and MEP as required)
• Preparing quantity summaries and measurement sheets in accordance with standard methods of measurement
• Assisting in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) where required
• Supporting the Estimation Team in cost planning and pricing of tender items
• Sending inquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and following up to obtain competitive quotations
• Analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations and preparing comparison statements
• Assisting in the build-up of unit rates, including material, labor, plant, and productivity inputs
• Identifying scope gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in tender documents and highlighting them to the Tender Manager
• Participating in value engineering and cost optimization proposals during the tender stage
• Preparing clarifications and qualifications to be included in the tender submission
• Supporting the preparation of the commercial section of tender submissions
• Maintaining proper documentation and records of measurements, assumptions, and pricing bases
• Assisting in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and preliminary project budgets during tender stage
• Supporting post-tender negotiations and providing quantity and cost breakdowns when required
• Coordinating with planning, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate pricing input

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in pre-contract / tendering / estimation roles within construction companies
• Strong experience in quantity take-offs for building and/or high-rise projects
