Job Description

We are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in post-contract work within the real estate development sector for our client based in Dubai which is one of the largest semi government organization in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and is renewable.

The role is within the Contract & Procurement department. As a post-contract quantity surveyor, you will be responsible for day-to-day functional leadership of estimating and quantity surveying skill sets to enable the organisation to achieve project delivery goals post-contract.

Key responsibilities:

Post contract administration and commercial management including but not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing and processing variations of consultants and contractors in accordance with the contract.
  • Administering variations of consultants and contractors in accordance with the client's Change Management procedures.
  • Reviewing and ensuring insurances and bank guarantees (bonds) are in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
  • Reviewing EOT and prolongations cost claims.
  • Payment valuations and preparing payment certificates.
  • Preparing monthly cost report, cashflow and accruals.
  • Close out of final account, preparing final payment certificate and release of bank guarantees.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • 810 years experience in project management consultancy/developer, with a minimum of 5 years in post-contract roles (UAE experience is preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Very good command of English and strong communication skills.
  • Experience with various aspects of Quantity Surveying such as Contract Administration, Field, and Drawing Measurements, Material Takeoff, Estimating, Valuations, Bills of Quantities, Reports, Claims, Dispute Resolution, Variations, Arbitrations, Contractual Letters, Final Accounts preparation, and project close-out.
  • Excellent negotiation & change management skills
