Job Summary:
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. The role involves cost planning, estimating, contract administration, and ensuring value for money while meeting quality standards and legal requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
. Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.
. Manage project budgets and monitor costs to avoid overruns.
. Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
. Evaluate and compare tenders from contractors and subcontractors.
. Handle contract administration including variations, claims, and payments.
. Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure smooth project progress.
. Monitor project timelines and ensure financial efficiency. . Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
.Ensure compliance with legal, health, safety, and sustainability regulations.
.Prepare interim and final project valuations and financial reports.
Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree in Quantity surveying, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management (RICS accreditation is a plus).
. Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT,NEC), and procurement processes.
. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
. Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or Primavera) and MS Office.
. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
.Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
. Years of Experience: 5+.
. Language: English and Arabic.
