Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provide necessary Radiation safety support to company and employees to optimize SASREF strategies and operational priorities (profit, safety, reliability, and environmental requirements) in coordination with other SASREF departments and in compliance with governmental regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop the Radiation safety procedures, objectives and targets based on national Radiation safety procedures standards and company Health, Safety and Environment policy.

Perform field investigations to identify and evaluate employee exposure to Radiation and health hazards. To ensure compliance with Radiation safety standards and guidelines and report any deviations from policies and procedures.

Conduct third-party compliance audits and inspections to assure continuous improvement. Work on risk assessment and risk management system through approved methods.

Develop and implement Radiation protection program among SASREF facilities by quantitative and qualitative approved methods.

Review the established Radiation safety standards to be applicable for the Company. Ensures that such standards are applied correctly through mature management system with other functions.

Review and monitor sampling reports and provides advice and recommendations in coordination with the Radiation safety aspects that should be specified in the relevant tenders. Present if there is early diagnosis for any Radiation safety exceedance on the site.

Carries out other related duties such as attending safety committee, assisting the major project dept. before any changing in the Radioactive sources or nearby activities.

Develop procedures and controls for all exposure index and KPI's to ensure proper protection of SASREF employees and contractors.

Remain on 24-hour call to provide support services for wide variety of regular and emergency needs.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct manager/supervisor.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in scientific fields, along with valid personal Radiation Safety Officer
  • License in Nuclear gauges (RSO in NG).
  • Minimum 2 years as radiation safety or similar field.
