Job Description

NDT Radiography Technician (Industrial Inspection)

Location: Abu Dhabi / Other Emirates (as required by project)!! This is a relocate to UAE role and is not rotational.

Job Overview

The NDT Radiography Technician is responsible for performing industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections on materials, welds, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project procedures.

This role supports operational activities by ensuring that inspections are conducted safely, accurately, and in compliance with industry requirements within sectors such as oil & gas, energy, marine, fabrication, and construction.

This position relates to Industrial NDT Radiography and not medical or diagnostic radiography.

BARC Level 1 with minimum of 1 year post qualification OR PCN Level 2 with minimum 1 year post qualification OR ASNT Level 2 with minimum 3 years post qualification.

Key Responsibilities

NDT Inspection Activities

  • Perform industrial radiographic testing (RT) on welds, pipelines, structures, and fabricated components.
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with approved NDT procedures, codes, and client specifications.
  • Interpret radiographic films and digital radiography images and report findings to the operations team.
  • Ensure all inspections meet applicable international standards and project requirements.

Inspection Reporting & Documentation

  • Record inspection findings accurately using the company reporting system.
  • Prepare inspection reports and documentation in line with project and quality requirements.
  • Maintain proper traceability of inspection results and related records.

Equipment & Work Preparation

  • Operate and maintain industrial radiography equipment and associated NDT tools.
  • Prepare and clean components or materials prior to inspection.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of radiation sources and inspection equipment.

Additional NDT Support

  • Perform additional NDT methods such as MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Dye Penetrant Testing), and Hardness Testing when required and trained.
  • Support operations during inspection campaigns and project activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Strictly adhere to radiation safety regulations and company HSEQ procedures.
  • Comply with FANR radiation safety regulations and site safety rules.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices at inspection sites.

Required Qualifications

Certifications

  • BARC Level 1 OR
  • PCN Level 2 OR
  • ASNT Level 2

Education

  • Minimum Higher Secondary School / Technical qualification

Experience

  • BARC Level 1 with minimum of 1 year post qualification OR PCN Level 2 with minimum of one year post qualification OR ASNT Level 2 with minimum 3 years post qualification

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of industrial NDT radiography techniques
  • Ability to interpret radiographic images and films.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and inspection procedures
  • Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
