Job Description

The RDD Engineer supports the Retail Design & Delivery (RDD) function in reviewing, coordinating, and delivering retail store development and fit-out projects. The role ensures compliance with brand standards, design specifications, and project timelines while coordinating architectural and basic MEP requirements. The position works closely with tenants, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure retail spaces are delivered efficiently, meet operational requirements, and maintain high design and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the review of architectural, interior design, and MEP drawings submitted by tenants, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance with project standards and design guidelines.
  • Assist in coordinating architectural and basic MEP design requirements to ensure proper integration between building services and retail store layouts.
  • Perform basic design tasks and develop conceptual sketches or minor layout adjustments when required to support retail project delivery.
  • Ensure tenant submissions comply with brand standards, mall guidelines, and project technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth project implementation.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensure compliance with approved drawings, and verify quality of execution.
  • Identify and escalate design coordination issues, technical conflicts, or site challenges and assist in resolving them.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation including technical reviews, meeting minutes, reports, and progress tracking logs.
  • Participate in snagging inspections, testing and commissioning activities, and final handover of retail units.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirments:

- Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.

- Previous Experience:

  • 1-5 years of experience in retail projects, fit-out works, construction, or design coordination.
  • Exposure to retail store development, tenant coordination, or commercial fit-out projects is preferred.

- Special requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Basic understanding of architectural and MEP coordination in commercial or retail environments.
  • Ability to review drawings and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience participating in site supervision, snagging, and project delivery activities.
