Job Summary
Manage the daily operations of a concrete batching plant, focusing on safety, production efficiency, quality control, maintenance, and personnel management. Ensure that operations align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Oversee daily plant activities, including batching, mixing, and dispatching of concrete to meet customer and project demands.
Production Planning: Plan and schedule daily production runs, ensuring maximum plant capacity and timely loading of delivery trucks.
Quality Control (QC): Implement and monitor QC procedures, coordinate tests on raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and finished concrete to ensure all products meet internal and industry standards.
Safety and Environmental Compliance: Enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations by conducting safety meetings, performing regular inspections, and ensuring conformance with HSE by own team.
Maintenance and Repairs: Coordinate and assist with the maintenance of all plant equipment, including the batching system, mixers, conveyors, and mobile plant, ice plant.
Inventory and Materials Management: Monitor stock levels of raw materials, coordinate with procurement team for replenishment, and manage material handling.
Personnel Supervision: Supervise, train, and motivate the team.
Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, including production logs, maintenance records, delivery tickets, and safety reports
Customer Service: Coordinate with sales and dispatch departments to meet customer requirements and address any delivery or quality issues.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Diploma in Engineering or other related courses.
Experience: Previous experience in plant operations, preferably within a ready-mix or aggregates environment, with prior supervisory experience often required.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of concrete production processes, mix designs, batching systems and associated equipment.
Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage teams and resolve operational challenges effectively.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer systems and plant-related software production monitoring.
