Svitzer AMEA is looking for a Regional Chief Commercial Officer to join our regional leadership team and help shape the next phase of our growth journey.
In AMEA, growth is rarely linear. Markets are diverse, regulatory environments vary, and opportunities often need to be shaped long before a formal commercial process presents itself. This role is for a senior commercial leader who is energized by that reality - someone who can create clarity where there is ambiguity and convert strategic ambition into disciplined, scalable growth.
Who We Are
Svitzer is a global leader in towage and marine services, aiding our customers in safely and efficiently manoeuvring their large vessels in and out of ports worldwide. The way we do business is governed by our values: Constant Care, Humbleness, Uprightness, Our Employees, Our Name.
Founded in 1833, Svitzer builds on almost 200 years of experience, and our powerful tugboats and experts in towage work tirelessly to keep goods flowing, businesses thriving, and communities connected. Today, Svitzer is a leading global port and terminal infrastructure provider, serving approximately 2,000 customers in 143 ports and 40 terminals across 37 countries through a fleet of 446 vessels. And we have started exploring new digital and green products and partnerships in an exciting journey, leading the way for towage to generate a cleaner, greener future for our industry.
What You Can Look Forward To
As Regional Chief Commercial Officer for AMEA, you will report to the Regional Managing Director with a functional line to the Group Chief Commercial Officer. You will be a core member of the AMEA leadership team, working closely with peers across Operations, Finance, Legal, People & Culture and HQ functions.
This is a role with real strategic influence. You will help define where and how Svitzer grows in one of our most complex and dynamic regions and ensure that growth is both commercially sound and true to our values.
What You Will Do

Driving regional growth and strategy

- Shape and mature commercial opportunities - often ahead of formal tenders - and pace development based on market readiness and risk.
- Translate long-term ambition into a focused portfolio of executable growth initiatives.
- Exercise strong judgement on where to invest, partner, grow - and when to walk away.
Customer leadership and market shaping
- Build deep, trust-based relationships with key customers, partners, authorities and stakeholders across the region.
- Understand customer needs beyond stated requirements and convert them into differentiated value propositions.
- Lead senior-level commercial dialogue in diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
- Grow existing customer relationships while opening new markets and business models.
Commercial leadership through others
- Lead and develop a high-performing regional commercial team.
- Set clear direction, priorities and standards
- Strengthen commercial capability across the wider organisation so success scales beyond individuals.
- Ensure robust pricing discipline, financial insight and governance across the commercial portfolio.
Strategic oversight and judgement
- Sponsor and support complex business cases, long-term contracts and investment decisions.
- Contribute to partnerships, M&A and due diligence from a commercial perspective.
- Maintain strong market intelligence on competition, pricing dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Act as a role model for integrity, compliance and disciplined growth.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a senior commercial leader who thrives in complexity and is comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
You Likely Bring
- 1015 years experience in commercial leadership and business development within asset-heavy, long-term or concession-based businesses.
- Proven experience creating growth in emerging or developing markets.
- Strong commercial and financial judgement, including pricing, risk assessment and long-term value creation.
- Experience with new-market entry, partnerships, and/or inorganic growth.
- A track record of leading and developing senior teams under pressure.
- The confidence and discipline to prioritize and balance risk with reward - including walking away from growth that does not meet our standards.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, aligning teams around shared outcomes.
You Are
- Strategic, curious and commercially sharp.
- A strong relationship builder with cultural sensitivity.
- Comfortable leading through influence in a matrix organisation.
- Calm, credible and decisive when trade-offs are real.
