Summary

The Opportunity
Hyatt Hotels seeks a Regional Director, Safety & Security to be based in Dubai, UAE. This role will play a critical part in protecting the Hyatt brand, our guests, colleagues, and assets in the EAME region. The position is focused on strengthening Hyatt's safety and security capability within our growing range of Hyatt properties-both current and planned-while also supporting a broader portfolio of resort hotels. The role will have a strong focus on training and mentoring staff in safety and security issues as well as implementing policies and programs.
As Hyatt continues to expand into new and higher-risk markets across EAME, this role offers the opportunity to shape and embed best-in-class safety and security practices across the full hotel lifecycle. The role partners closely with regional leadership and Global Risk Management to drive a strong safety and security risk culture, ensure compliance, and enable safe growth across diverse operating
environments.
This role reports directly to the RVP, Safety & Security EAME, with indirect guidance from Risk Management. This role requires a fluent English speaker and involves travel between 25-40% of time.

This role serves as the principal safety and security lead for operations in Middle East & Africa (MEA), providing expert leadership, oversight, and escalation support. The role may also be required to work on broader Regional or Global priorities.


Key responsibilities include:
. Acting as the primary point of contact for safety and security advice, escalation, and decision support for MEA leadership, with close collaboration across HIC, legacy Hyatt, Global Safety & Security (GSS), and Global Risk teams.
. Developing, drafting, and maintaining physical security, technical security, and life safety documentation including audits, security reviews, regional strategies and safety initiatives.
. Leading the implementation of Hyatt safety and security policies, procedures, and standards across the regional portfolio.
. Providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development to regional safety and security teams, driving training, capability building, and continuous
improvement.
. Embedding Hyatt's Incident and Crisis Management (ICM) program, driving effective incident reporting, analysis, and safety committee engagement.
. Managing and responding to safety & security incidents and events, including liaison with client security departments and internal stakeholders.
. Conducting facility audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
. Leading or advising on investigations as required.
. Reviewing physical security design for hotel openings, transitions, and renovations to ensure alignment with Hyatt standards.
. Managing and directing security vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
. Maintaining strong external relationships with law enforcement, military, intelligence partners, and industry peers for benchmarking and information sharing.
. Providing protective intelligence, travel safety oversight, and advisory support.
. Designing and delivering a range of safety and security training programs tailored to regional needs.

Qualifications

Experience Required:
. A minimum of ten years leading multi-site security programs.
. Fluent English
Experience Preferred:
. Experience of managing or overseeing a Health & Safety program / culture
