The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for employing 80/20 principles within their assigned geography to meet or exceed objectives and targets. The RSM will build and maintain a deep understanding of the Marmon IEI value proposition and product offering, identify customer needs, and provide tailored solutions that address specific challenges or enhance operations. Through expertise and persuasive skills, the RSM will foster strong client relationships, coordinate internal and external resources, and drive sustainable, profitable growth while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry influencers, and stakeholders to drive business growth and enhance the company's reputation.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand the company's customer base in the assigned region.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.
- Develop and deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and technical proposals to prospective and existing customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and maximize sales opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and key metrics to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices to remain competitive in the market.
Note: These are general duties required to fulfill the Regional Sales Manager role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to meet changing business and technology demands.
Education And Experience Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of sales experience with a record of achieving sales goals in technical sales.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and market trends to drive business growth.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 70%.
Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
- Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position at a computer performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25 lbs.
- Ability to collaborate with operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
- Frequent domestic and international travel.
