Position Overview

The Senior Resident Engineer High-Rise Building Towers is responsible for leading the site supervision function for complex tower developments, ensuring that construction works are executed in accordance with contract requirements, approved drawings, local authority regulations, safety standards, and project quality objectives. The role acts as the key technical and managerial representative on site, driving coordination among the client, contractor, consultants, specialist subcontractors, and relevant authorities to achieve successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall site supervision team for high-rise building tower projects, ensuring effective allocation of resources and clear direction to engineers and inspectors.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship, materials, and contractor performance to ensure compliance with specifications, approved shop drawings, method statements, and project timelines.
• Review and provide technical input on RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, mock-ups, and contractor proposals related to structural, architectural, and MEP coordination matters.
• Ensure strict compliance with local authority requirements, codes, standards, permits, inspections, and approvals applicable to high-rise developments in the UAE.
• Chair and attend progress meetings, technical coordination meetings, and site walk-throughs with the client, contractors, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify technical, commercial, and execution-related risks early and proactively coordinate corrective actions to avoid delays, quality issues, and non-compliance.
• Oversee site records including daily reports, progress updates, NCRs, safety observations, inspection requests, snagging status, and handover documentation.
• Review contractor programmes and site sequences, and coordinate closely with planning and commercial teams to track progress against key milestones.
• Provide timely recommendations to project leadership on variations, claims, delays, contractor performance issues, and critical engineering decisions.
• Support testing, commissioning, practical completion, snag rectification, authority close-out, and final handover activities for tower projects.
• Ensure coordination across structural, architectural, faade, vertical transportation, and MEP disciplines to maintain design intent and construction efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and inspectors, promote best supervision practices, and maintain a high standard of professionalism on site.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1215 years of professional experience, with substantial UAE experience in construction supervision of high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use towers.
• Proven track record as Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer on complex multistorey / high-rise building projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction regulations, authority approval procedures, quality control requirements, and contract administration practices.
• Solid understanding of structural systems, architectural finishes, building services coordination, faade interfaces, and testing & commissioning requirements for tower developments.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts, inspection workflows, and project reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard engineering / reporting tools; familiarity with digital supervision systems is an advantage.
• Professional registration or membership with a recognized engineering body is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding project environment while maintaining quality and client focus.
