About the Job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Resort Directorto join our team at Yas Plaza Hotels. The Resort Director is responsible for leading day-to-day operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, consistent service delivery, and adherence to brand standards. The role focuses on operational excellence, colleague engagement, quality assurance, and supporting the General Manager in achieving long-term service and operational objectives. This position plays a key role in cultivating a positive culture, elevating guest satisfaction, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining a high level of product and service quality across the resort.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of all departments to ensure smooth, efficient, and guest-focused service delivery.
  • Ensure all brand standards, operational procedures, and quality benchmarks are consistently executed.
  • Conduct regular property walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, maintenance, safety standards, and overall resort presentation.
  • Lead operational planning for seasons, occupancy patterns, and special business needs.

Guest Experience & Quality

  • Championing a culture of service excellence, ensuring personalized and memorable guest experiences at all touchpoints.
  • Act as a visible host within the property, engaging with guests, handling key interactions, and addressing service opportunities.
  • Review guest feedback channels and quality audits, ensuring timely action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex guest concerns, ensuring service recovery and positive outcomes.

People & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and develop operational department heads to enhance leadership capabilities and teamwork.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and empowerment, supporting departmental performance and colleague satisfaction.
  • Support Human Resources with recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning for operational roles.
  • Ensure departmental communication flows effectively and that teams remain aligned on objectives and service standards.

Brand Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure brand values and identity are reflected in all guest-facing experiences.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, local regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Ensure readiness for internal and external quality audits and regulatory inspections.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in strategic discussions, decision-making, and driving operational initiatives.
  • Support implementation of projects such as upgrades, new service concepts, sustainability programs, and guest experience innovations.
  • Prepare operational updates, service performance insights, and action plans as required.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of guest activities, seasonal events, and resort engagement programs.
  • Ensure all resort experiences reflect creativity, safety, and brand alignment.
  • Act as the first point of contact during emergencies or incidents, ensuring guest and colleague safety.
  • Lead evacuations or emergency procedures when required and coordinate with relevant authorities.
  • Chair operational/departmental meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform additional duties consistent with the role and business needs.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 57 years of relevant operational leadership experience within a resort or hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and service orientation.
  • Proficiency in operational systems, reporting tools, and general computer applications.
  • Local language knowledge is an added advantage.
