Job Description

A leading and rapidly growing retail organization in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Retail Director to lead and scale its retail operations across multiple locations. This senior leadership role will be responsible for defining and executing the retail strategy, driving commercial performance, and ensuring a best-in-class customer experience across all stores.

The Retail Director will oversee the operational, commercial, and strategic performance of the retail network while leading high-performing teams and ensuring alignment with the company's brand vision and growth objectives. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, operationally strong, and experienced in managing large-scale retail environments in fast-paced markets.

Responsibilities

Retail Strategy & Commercial Performance

  • Develop and execute the overall retail strategy aligned with the organization's growth plans and commercial objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency across all retail locations.
  • Monitor and analyze retail performance metrics, including sales, conversion rates, footfall, and average transaction value.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, new store openings, and retail channel optimization.

Store Operations & Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day retail operations, ensuring stores consistently meet operational and service standards.
  • Implement best practices for merchandising, product presentation, and store experience.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, brand standards, and company policies.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the in-store customer journey and strengthen brand loyalty.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a regional retail leadership team, including area managers and store managers.
  • Build a high-performance retail culture focused on accountability, engagement, and results.
  • Partner with HR and training teams to develop talent pipelines and succession plans within retail operations.
  • Ensure consistent performance management and development of retail staff across locations.

Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, marketing, and e-commerce teams to align retail initiatives with broader business strategies.
  • Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns within retail stores.
  • Ensure optimal inventory management and stock availability across the retail network.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish clear KPIs for store performance and ensure consistent monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership based on retail performance data.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize retail operations and enhance profitability.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1015 years of retail experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-store operations.
  • Proven track record of delivering strong commercial results and driving retail growth.
  • Strong leadership experience managing large teams across multiple locations.
  • Deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising, customer experience, and performance management.
  • Experience in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer retail is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
