Job Description

Our Client is looking for a ideal candidate will have an ability to manage the daily operations of the retail store and complete tasks related to inventory tracking, marketing and customer service. They should be a confident salesperson and be able to share their best practices in order to onboard new employees. This candidate should also possess strong leadership skills and be able to assign duties to relevant employees in order to maintain the function of the store.

Responsibilities

Store Operations

  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures
  • Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards
  • Maintain operational consistency across shifts and staff
  • Enforce store policies, procedures, and loss-prevention practices

Inventory & Product Management

  • Manage inventory receiving, pricing, stocking, and reconciliation
  • Monitor singles, sealed product, accessories, and event supplies
  • Coordinate restocks and communicate inventory needs to ownership/management
  • Minimize shrink and ensure accurate inventory tracking

Staff Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and schedule store staff
  • Set clear expectations and ensure excellent customer service standards
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Act as manager-on-duty when required

Events & Community Support

  • Support in-store events such as tournaments, prereleases, leagues, and casual play
  • Ensure events run smoothly from setup to breakdown
  • Assist judges/event staff as needed with logistics and customer flow
  • Help foster a welcoming, inclusive TCG community

Customer Experience

  • Handle customer issues, returns, and escalations professionally
  • Ensure knowledgeable service for TCG products and events
  • Maintain a friendly, safe, and inclusive environment for all players

Administrative & Reporting

  • Track sales performance, staffing needs, and operational metrics
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll inputs, and vendor coordination
  • Communicate regularly with ownership/upper management

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail management or operations experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and event days
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting inventory

Preferred

  • Experience in a hobby, game, or collectibles store
  • Knowledge of trading card games (e.g., MTG, Pokmon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana)
  • Event or tournament operations experience
  • Point-of-sale and inventory system familiarity
