The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of retail stores to ensure smooth functioning, excellent customer service, and achievement of sales targets. The role focuses on operational efficiency, cost control, team supervision, and maintaining high standards across all retail locations while ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise day-to-day store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning across all retail locations.
- Ensure stores comply with company policies, operational procedures, and brand standards.
- Monitor store opening and closing procedures, cash handling processes, and operational compliance.
- Coordinate with IT and maintenance teams to resolve technical or facility-related issues promptly and minimize operational disruptions.
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and store performance.
Financial & Cash Management
- Maintain and oversee petty cash for operational expenses while ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Monitor daily cash collections and ensure timely and accurate bank deposits.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed by store teams to maintain financial accuracy and accountability.
- Track operational expenses and drive cost-saving initiatives across retail locations without compromising service quality.
Sales & Performance Management
- Support stores in achieving sales targets and operational KPIs.
- Monitor store performance and prepare regular operational and performance reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue generation, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Team Supervision & Engagement
- Supervise and support store managers and retail staff across locations.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and operational training to enhance team performance.
- Foster team morale and encourage a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Assist in staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak operational hours.
Customer Experience
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality customer service across all retail locations.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure stores maintain high visual merchandising and brand presentation standards.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure product availability.
- Oversee stock counts, replenishment, and loss prevention measures.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
Compliance & Store Standards
- Conduct regular store visits and operational audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and retail standards.
- Maintain overall store environment standards, cleanliness, and operational discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in retail operations, store management, or a similar role.
- Experience managing multi-store operations is an advantage.
