Job Description

The Manager – Risk and Compliance (Store Operations) supports in developing and implementing policies and procedures across all store locations. The role is responsible for ensuring consistent adherence to compliance standards at the store level, identifying operational and safety risks within stores, and contributing to action plans that safeguard assets, merchandise, employees, and the overall store environment.

Risk Management

  • Assist in driving risk management initiatives across store operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Contribute to the development of contingency plans for in-store incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations
  • Recommend enhancements to risk and compliance systems impacting store environments
  • Analyse store-level data, incident reports, and committee outcomes to ensure actionable plans are implemented
  • Oversee and promote the effective use of integrity hotlines within store operations

Risk and Compliance Investigation

  • Support and participate in investigations related to store operations, including employee theft, policy breaches, and ethical violations
  • Ensure all store-level investigations are conducted in line with legal requirements, company policies, and best practices to mitigate risks

Risk Evaluation and Analysis

  • Identify operational risks within stores and recommend action plans to safeguard assets, merchandise, employees, and customers
  • Monitor POS activities to detect suspicious transactions or potential losses and follow up with store and country teams
  • Analyse risk assessment outcomes and prepare insights and reports for management review

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store management, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders to support operational compliance
  • Coordinate with external security and emergency service providers to ensure readiness at the store level
  • Work closely with store and country management to address internal audit findings and ensure timely closure of action points

Reporting

  • Support in preparing store operations–focused risk and compliance reports and presentations for senior management
  • Coordinate the development of dashboards tracking store compliance, incidents, and risk metrics
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of store-related compliance data and provide regular updates to management

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Support performance management activities within the store risk and compliance function by setting objectives and monitoring progress
  • Mentor team members to build capability and ensure a strong talent pipeline within store operations
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with HR to deliver relevant learning programs
  • Develop and deliver on-the-job training and awareness sessions focused on store compliance and risk practices
  • Update and deliver training materials tailored to store teams
  • Provide input into manpower planning to support store operations requirements
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures across all store operations
