Atradius Trade Credit (Re) Insurance DIFC Ltd is seeking an experienced
Risk Underwriter to join our Trade Credit Insurance team in Dubai. The role focuses on underwriting and managing a diversified portfolio of buyers across the Middle East, ensuring highquality risk assessment and strong support to both local and global clients.
Role Overview
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of buyers across the Middle East region.
- Assess, monitor and maintain a healthy risk profile aligned with Atradius standards.
- Conduct regular interactions and meetings with buyers within and outside the UAE to gather reliable information.
- Deliver timely credit limit decisions and recommendations for both existing customers and new business proposals.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to support sustainable portfolio growth.
Job Description
- Perform detailed financial and nonfinancial risk assessments to determine buyer creditworthiness.
- Monitor buyer performance, sector exposure, and regional developments to proactively manage risk.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Navigate limitations in regional financial disclosure by developing alternative information-sourcing methods.
- Provide clear, rationalebased underwriting decisions within agreed service levels.
- Contribute to local and global portfolio strategy through market insights and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure underwriting practices adhere to Atradius standards, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Represent the risk team in meetings with customers and buyers when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in credit underwriting, financial risk analysis, corporate banking, or trade credit insurance with emphasis on Middle Eastern markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Strong analytical and financial statement interpretation skills.
- Ability to assess creditworthiness beyond published financials using interviews, market intelligence, and alternative data.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong advantage).
- Confident in engaging with senior management of corporates across diverse cultures.
- Proactive, curious, reliable, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- UAE valid driving license preferred.
