Job Description

We are looking for a Ruya Batch 1 Area Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Doha/China/India/Oman/Korea

Doha Logistics allowance: SINGLE status

Mobilisation date: 01-JAN-2024

Demobilisation date: 31-DEC-2025

Resignation: 2 months notice period

Qualification And Experience Required

  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering,
  • Experience: At least 15 years experience in offshore oil & gas projects with minimum 5 years experience as Project/Area Engineer within Operator's team,
  • Experience within a project team: At least 10 years experience at senior level within large multinational taskforce team environment,
  • Experience in offshore facilities is preferred,
  • Available for technical missions worldwide,
  • Familiar with the company's General Specifications, Manasa, and relevant codes and standards,
  • Language: Fluent English,
  • Computer literate,
  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills,
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment,
  • Good analytical skills,
  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.

Accountabilities

  • Area Engineer is accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behavior with regard to HSE rules & requirements and for implementing HSE rules within his area.
  • Area Engineer is responsible for the activities detailed below during all phases of EPCIC packages:
  • Ensure that the assigned projects tasks are well managed as per the Statement Of Requirement, the company's specifications and contractual requirements,
  • Manage, communicate and coordinate Project objectives with the project team members during all EPCIC phases,
  • Manage the associated key/milestone dates to meet project schedule related to the package,
  • Responsible to coordinate with the EPCIC Contractor in charge of the related package to ensure smooth execution of Main subcontracts and equipment packages and ensure thorough expediting to de-risk construction schedule,
  • Ensure technical coordination with Package Manager during all phases of EPCIC,
  • Assist and support Package management throughout all EPCIC execution phases,
  • Provide thorough and efficient engineering documentation review, comments and follow-up,
  • Follow-up of internal technical reviews (Project reviews, etc.).

Activities

  • To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other of the company's HSE procedures in all EPC activities,
  • To carry out work in compliance with the company's values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed company's priorities and objectives, company's standards and procedures and good industry practices,
  • To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality,
  • To monitor closely Package schedule, anticipate any foreseen challenges and subsequently provide mitigative measures,
  • To follow-up Detail Engineering to ensure timely issuance of necessary deliverables,
  • To follow-up with Procurement team to ensure delivery of the material are compatible with the Required-On-Site (ROS) dates for fabrication and installation,
  • To follow-up and monitor the execution of fabrication, assembly, integration, pre-commissioning and commissioning,
  • To coordinate with Field Operations ensuring attendance to key review and necessary input in design,
  • Ensure proper execution of EPCIC Subcontracts/POs and coordinate documentation review and Company surveillance plan with QAQC Lead,
  • To manage potential deviations from the company's referential with the Engineering Lead for final decision on whether or not to implement,
  • To liaise with Commissioning team to ensure smooth transfer between pre-commissioning and commissioning activities,
  • In case of drift in schedule, liaise with other teams involved (engineering, construction, commissioning) to study remedial actions,
  • Promote a no change policy to meet budget and schedule constraints without impairing quality and safety of the EPCIC activities,
  • To manage assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office), when required during all phases,
  • To follow and track Detail Engineering progress including follow-up of engineering and vendor documentation reviews to ensure compliance with Design Dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standards and HSE regulations, international codes and classification society rules,
  • To ensure, in collaboration with Engineering Head, that engineering deliverables produced by EPCIC contractors are properly assigned to and reviewed by Project personnel within the specified time period,
  • To report to and liaise on regular basis with Package management on commercial and contractual issues arising during execution and ensure that all necessary information is properly recorded, collated and available for further negotiations,
  • To ensure that EPCIC queries are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner,
  • To ensure implementation of the design change process affecting EPCIC activities,
  • To coordinate HAZID/ HAZOP/ Project Reviews sessions with the company, Contractors and vendors teams
  • To ensure support to engineering, construction and commissioning teams as required,
  • To follow-up the Contract scope, alert the management team in case of additional scope, and coordinate change requests,
  • To verify that engineering tasks are strictly carried out in compliance with the contract requirements, and in particular with the safety philosophy, recognized engineering practices, project specifications and standards,
  • To continuously interact with all Project Entities (Internal and External) to understand and respond in line with Project requirements,
  • To communicate effectively with Package manager and other project participants to provide support on technical and commercial aspects; embracing quality, schedule and budget objectives,
  • To promote alternatives solutions to reduce and to optimize the duration for offshore installation,
  • To ensure close coordination within team on all engineering, constructability and operational matters,
  • To ensure that relevant feedbacks from previous similar projects are considered to enhance project works performance,
  • To participate and/or manage weekly and monthly meetings with Contractor(s), and call specific ad hoc meetings as required,
  • To participate in follow up on the Project progress and risk reporting,
  • The job holder reports hierarchically to the Package Manager during EPCIC phases.
  • To assist in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), targets and control mechanism focused on achieving project objectives.
