Safety Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the implementation and monitoring of Workplace Safety and Health practices at the project site. The role will work closely with project teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with site safety procedures.

Job Scope

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions, work practices, and potential hazards.

• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health requirements, approved risk assessments, and safe work procedures.

• Assist in implementing safety policies, procedures, and control measures across the project site.

• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and induction sessions for workers and subcontractors.

• Investigate and report workplace incidents, near misses, and safety violations, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and other required documentation.

• Follow up with supervisors and subcontractors to ensure safety issues and corrective actions are closed promptly.

• Support emergency response exercises, safety audits, and inspections by clients, consultants, or relevant authorities.

Requirements

• Relevant Workplace Safety and Health certification recognised for construction-site safety responsibilities in Singapore.

• Relevant experience in construction, civil, infrastructure, or building projects is preferred.

• Familiar with site safety inspections, risk assessments, safe work procedures, incident reporting, and corrective-action follow-up.

• Good knowledge of workplace safety practices and construction-site hazards.

• Strong communication, coordination, observation, and reporting skills.

• Able to work independently and engage effectively with workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and project teams.

• Able to work in a site-based environment and respond promptly to safety concerns or incidents.
