Key Accountabilities:
- Under supervision and jointly with another safety officer, carry out construction safety inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Identify hazards and assist in risk assessments, ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented.
- Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with ADPHC / ADOSH, DM, and other local regulatory requirements.
- Participate as a member of the investigation team in joint accident/incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Conduct follow-up site safety inspections to ensure previous reports and corrective actions are closed out.
- Support the implementation of the company's HSE management system and safety procedures on site.
- Assist in toolbox talks, safety awareness programs, and communicating safety requirements to site personnel.
- Maintain accurate safety inspection records and assist in preparing reports for HSE management.
- Carry out any additional HSE duties assigned with the consent of the Group HSE Manager.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
- High school education completed.
- Mandatory: IOSH Managing Safety Certificate (NVQ Level 2 equivalent).
- Preferred: NEBOSH General Certificate in OHS (NVQ Level 3 equivalent) or OSHA 10 Hours General Industry Safety & Health Program.
- Additional HSE-related training is desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Health and Safety within engineering or construction infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
Additional Requirement Abu Dhabi:
- In addition to the above qualifications, Safety Inspectors working in Abu Dhabi must have successfully completed the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH SF) Practitioners Course and hold Grade C certification.
