Job Description

Job Title - Safety Manager (Pump Station Rehabilitation Project)

Location - Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Project Value - AED 800 Million

Salary - From AED 35,000 per month (Negotiable for the right candidate)

About the Role

This is a high-value, high-risk infrastructure project involving complex refurbishment works within an operational environment. The successful candidate will take full ownership of project HSE performance, leading a dedicated team of approximately 10 HSE professionals and interfacing directly with senior project leadership and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and full accountability for HSE performance across the project

Develop, implement and continuously improve the project-specific HSE Management Plan in line with UAE regulations and international standards

Lead and manage a team of HSE Engineers, Officers and Advisors (approx. 10 personnel)

Ensure full compliance with ADOSH/ADPHC frameworks, client requirements and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards

Drive a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, behavioural initiatives and workforce engagement

Oversee risk management processes including HAZID, risk assessments, MSRAs and Critical Control Verification (CCV)

Manage all high-risk activities including confined space entry, lifting operations, electrical works, excavation and live plant interface

Act as the primary point of contact for client HSE representatives, consultants and regulatory authorities

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 10–15 years HSE experience within large-scale infrastructure, utilities or construction projects

Proven experience as a lead HSE Manager on major projects (AED 300M+ preferred)

Mandatory experience working on pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, or similar utility infrastructure

Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations (ADOSH / ADPHC frameworks)

Professional certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) - essential

Demonstrated experience leading and managing HSE teams on complex projects

Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioural change

Experience working in live operational environments and managing interface risks

Excellent communication and reporting skills
