About the job:
Position: Safety Officer
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with client safety policies, procedures, and international safety standards (OSHA, NEBOSH, etc.).
- Enforce adherence to Permit to Work (PTW)systems including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, etc.
- Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) laws and regulations.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments before the commencement of tasks.
- Identify potential hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Participate in HAZID / HAZOP studies during project planning phases.
- Perform regular site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe acts/conditions.
- Ensure all workers are using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) correctly.
- Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records and report findings to client representatives.
- Support in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement lessons learned across the site.
- Conduct daily tool-box talks, safety inductions, and training programs.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of emergency procedures, muster points, and emergency response plans.
- Promote a safety culture among workers and contractors.
- Maintain up-to-date HSE records, reports, and safety logs as per client documentation standards.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly safety reports to site management.
- Maintain records of permits, inspections, training, and audits.
- Conduct and participate in emergency drills (fire, gas leak, evacuation).
- Ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting and first aid equipment.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams and local authorities during real events.
- Attend and participate in HSE meetings, site walkthroughs, and audits with client representatives.
- Ensure that contractors and subcontractors comply with Client's safety requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must have good English language.
- NEBOSH IGC Certified
- Must be self-directed individual capable of working with minimal supervision
- 5 years of experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry is preferred
- Have no issue to work in remote areas for extended period
